1945年生于上海，现为全国书画艺术委员会副主席、中国翰墨书画院副院长、国家一级美术师、中国美术家协会会员、东方文化研究会研究员、华夏巨匠书画院客座教授、中国书画研究院院士、美国哈佛艺术学院名誉院士、中国国宾礼艺术家、国礼艺术家、中国国际艺术家协会终身顾问。

近年来热衷倡导“诗音画”艺术，是诗音画艺术的倡导者、实践者；曾荣获“中国诗音画倡导者”“德艺双馨艺术家”“创新油画艺术家”“人民书画家”“走向世界的人民艺术家”“中华文化和谐使者”“海峡两岸文化交流大使”等称号。有大量诗音画作品及创新画论，刊登在《美术报》《中国艺术报》《新华网》《央视网》美国《时代周刊》俄罗斯《真理报》等多家媒体。多幅作品在中外书画大赛获金、银奖，并美誉为“中国艺术品软黄金”。
